Te Kowhai Print Trust is a community owned facility unique to Whangarei. It operates as a workshop and educational facility in fine art printmaking as well as keeping a nationally significant historical archive of fine art prints. We’re currently equipped to teach Stone Lithography, Screenprinting, Solar Etching, Dry Point, Collograph, Monoprinting, Woodcut/Linocut and Letterpress. We are one of the few studios who are equipped to teach the range of fine art printmaking techniques that we do.
We like to work with a number of community organisations and teach printing classes to any age and experience level.
The Te Kowhai Print Trust's two buildings situated within the Quarry Arts Centre are aged, dilapidated and in great need of significant building maintenance and renovation to ensure we can continue to deliver our beneficial services to the community.
Funds raised will be put toward this maintenance project, allowing us to continue to deliver our printmaking classes, specialist programs, studio access for artists and provide arts access to the wider community.
Te Kowhai Print Trust is an important community institution and actively seeks to enrich the lives of artists and printmakers.
The trust is currently working on the preservation of its large archive of printed works collected over the years and has a number of other projects in the planning stage.
Every donation towards our Sustainable Futures Fund helps us to build a sustainable future for the Te Kowhai Print Trust and the Northland arts and printmaking community.
